MISSIONS
2011: Peru Labor Day Weekend
High Amazon/Tarapoto
September 3rd (Sat) - September 10th (Sat)
This mission is designed to bring medical/dental care to remote communities near Tarapoto, Peru.
Physicians, dentists and support personnel needed.
Lonely Planet writes “Tarapoto (1000' altitude) is a rainforest metropolis, it dips its toe into the Amazon Basin while managing to cling to the rest of Peru.
Tarapoto is located in an ideal place to allow a traveler to visit the mountain regions of Chachapoyas and the jungle areas of the Pacaya - Samiria Reserve. Of particular interest are the towns near Tarapoto that are rich in Andes culture. We have set up this mission so we can reach 3 communities on the rivers and lakes that feed the Amazon basin below and give you a couple days to experience the Amazon rainforest.
