Michael Altman, Chairman
Michael Altman has been a volunteer since 1990 and has served on the Board of Directors of Flying Doctors of America since 1991 when he was first elected. He has been on several medical missions and currently serves as a team leader. A CPA for 26 years, Michael currently runs a Financial Advisory Practice with Ameriprise Financial. He was elected as Vice Chairman of the Cobb County Republican Party in 2005-2007 and Treasurer in 2004-2005. He was appointed by the Governor to serve as Chairman of the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust.

Allan M. Gathercoal, DD, MTh, MA
Allan is the President/Founder of Flying Doctors of America, which he founded in 1990. He travels the globe, but his second home is in Latin America. He has been the team leader on more than 200 medical/dental missions. Allan is an ordained minister and holds a doctorate from Columbia Theological Seminary. He is a private pilot and an aficionado of adventure sports. He was born in England.

Liz Marcela Gathercoal
Liz Marcela is the South American coordinator for Flying Doctors of America.   She is also holds her teacher's certificate with a focus in special education.  Her love is travel while bringing care to the world's less fortunate.

Allen Hord, MD
Allen is a physician at the Piedmont Hospital (Atlanta, GA) where he specializes in pain management. He maintains an adjunct appointment as Clinicial Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hord is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pain Management. Dr. Hord is also certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine. In 2004, he was once again voted to the list of “Best Doctors” in America.

Kayreen Jeter, RN, BSN
Kayreen is a registered nurse with primary experience in adult health and has been an intensive care nurse for 19 years. During this time she has also worked for a cardiothoracic surgical group for 6 years and managed an ICU for 2 years. Her primary area of expertise is ICU bedside nursing with cardiothoracic surgery patients.

John A. Arledge, MD
Dr Arledge is a board-certified Gastroenterologist who has lived and practiced in Carrollton, Ga, since 2008. He grew up in Northern Virginia. He obtained a BA in Biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va, and completed his MD at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical college of Virginia and his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fl. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He also was a Flight Surgeon with the Air National Guard from 2000-2012, rank of Major. He is a veteran of foreign war after spending time in Bagram Afghanistan as a Flight Surgeon.

Jerry Batten, DDS, MPH
Dr. Batten is a graduate of Duke University, UNC-CH School of Dentistry, and the University of Tennessee, with a background in public/private dental practice, program administration and education. He holds an MPH in Health Administration and a residency in Dental Public Health, and has diverse work experience at federal, state, and local levels. Jerry’s expertise is primary care and community outreach. He has participated in multiple international health missions and currently resides in coastal North Carolina, where he enjoys music, travel, and water sports.

Morris Brooks, DDS
Dr Morris Brooks has practiced Dental and Oral surgery for the past 50 years. Originally from South Africa, he has practiced, both in that country and in England. In the USA he was employed by WebMD as Consulting Dental Editor for several years and thereafter has been involved in charitable dental work in various places. Morris has boxed and played rugby at representative level and also a former Maccabi boxing Champion. He is a private pilot, skydiver and is a veteran in bodybuilding. Morris is a past member of Round Table of South Africa and the Hebrew Order of David. He has been on several medical/dental missions and is the current Team Leader  for the Guatemala mission.

Kenneth D. Kligman, DDS
Dr. Kenneth Kligman is a graduate of Emory University and Emory University’s School of Dentistry and has maintained a private dental practice in Woodstock, Georgia since 1984. Dr. Kligman participates in numerous community activities and has served as the team Dentist for Kennesaw State University for over 20 years. He has also been an active member of the Rotary Club of Woodstock for the past 23 years, were he has served as President and on their board of directors in a variety of capacities. Dr K. is a Fellow of the international College of Dentists and a Paul Harris Fellow and Will Watt Fellow of Rotary International. Kenny has been on medical missions to the Ukraine, Cambodia, twice to Guatemala and Team Leader to Panama.

Andy Nish, MD
Andy Nish, MD, is a board-certified Allergist who has lived and practiced in Gainesville, GA, since 1994. He grew up in Idaho and in Milledgeville, GA. Dr Nish attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, and medical school at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. His medical training was in the USAF, completing a Pediatrics residency at Keesler Medical Center, Biloxi, MS and an Allergy-Immunology fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Ashma and Immunology. He enjoys traveling, participating in sprint triathlons, and spending time with his two grown children.

Ashish Patel, MD
Dr. Ashish Patel, a graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry, has practiced in the Atlanta Area since 1996. More than a specialist cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry he teaches. Traveling throughout the USA teaching dentist new cosmetic and restorative skills. Besides all of that Dr. Patel has found another calling alleviating pain and suffering amongst the world's poor. In the past years he has donated his skills and service in the mountain of the Himalayas, the Solomon Islands, the Marshall Islands and where his parents were born - Kenya.

Fred Radewagen, MSFS
Fred is an international government and public affairs consultant whose practice is centered on the Pacific Islands in Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia. A graduate of Northwestern University with a concentration in diplomatic history, Fred earned a Masters of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and has been involved in public policy and national politics for over 40 years.
